GD biotech is thrilled to share with you the latest publication of Louise Brulin, PhD, entitled “The genetic architecture of host–microbiota interactions in livestock”
This review provides a critical overview of how host genetics shape the gut microbiota in livestock, and how these interactions influence key traits such as health, immunity, feed efficiency and overall performance.
Some microbiota traits are heritable, but evidence remains heterogeneous and context‑dependent.
The microbiota represents a promising but still exploratory lever for improving robustness and sustainability in livestock systems; real progress will come from integrated genetics, nutrition and management, supported by large, robust studies.
